The fertile volcanic plateau of Boloven is a scenic region with sleepy villages, rolling hills and lush vegetation of cafe. Heading out of Pakse, you drive to visit the Phasoume Waterfall, the nearby Katu tribal village before taking a rest near the spectacular of Tadlo Waterfalls.

Itinerary :

Tad Lo is located in Salavan province, but most commonly visited on trips based from Pakse, 85 kilometers away via the Salavan Road. It’s something of a budget travelers’ paradise and more and more backpackers are onto this fact, visiting both by motorcycle and public bus. Tad Lo is really a series of three falls Tad Suong, Tad Lo and Tad Hang, around which most of the accommodation is grouped, in the village of Ban Saenvang.

Tad Lo Waterfalls

Tad Lo itself is reached by crossing the bridge over to the Saise Resort and following the road up the hill and around to an abandoned guesthouse. From here, the base of the falls can be reached on foot and you can swim in the massive pool at its base – a little bit like a whirlpool but exhilarating nonetheless. The massive granite wall over which the waters spill is definitely worth seeing even if you don’t go for a swim.

Laos Daily Tours: Pakse One Day Tours to Tadlo Waterfall – Pakse Daily Trips in Laos (-/L/-)

The fertile volcanic plateau of Boloven is a scenic region with sleepy villages, rolling hills and lush vegetation of cafe. Today we depart the hotel at 8h00 and drive to Tadlo waterfall. Along the way, we make a stopover at the stunning Phasoume Waterfall and a nearby culture village of the Katu people. This ethnic group was originally in Vietnam but immigrated into Laos down centuries.
We continue traveling by roads towards Laogam. This mountainous area is home of the many triple groups including the Alack, Katang and Nge people. They still retain their age old cultural traditions and are recognizably distinct from each other by their dress. We see some of these groups and continue to Tadlo. On arrival, we have time to relax by this scenic fall or visit some nearby villages. The trip ends on arrival in Pakse. (L)
