Tham Chang Cave
This cave is Vang Vieng tourist resort, 2km from the town center. There are beautiful views of the village and rice fields from here. This cave is well lit, fairy tale atmosphere. Beneath the cave are natural pools (bathing no charge) Crowded on weekends. Can swim from here to another section of the cave, occupied by bats. It\’s very dark.

Tham Phapouae Cave
This site is situated in the north of town, 1km in the west from the river. Visitors cross a bridge, walk toward upstream. This is a very long cave and can be very narrow. At the entrance a guide is waiting and lit when you go through.

Tham Palusy Cave
The Tham Palusy Cave in the north of town however it involves a bridge crossing and walk toward upstream. There are signs;2km from the river.

Tham Poukham Cave
This cave is located in the south of town on other side of river. You walk and take a bike for a 5km west then turn right and go another 2km. At this point, they need to cross a bridge and take a tuk-tuk waiting the other side. This is a big cave with a sleeping Buddha inside. There is a river where you can swim and jump.

Tham Xang Cave
The Tham Xang is locally called Elephant caves situated about 12km in the north of town and near Tham Xang village. The best way to get there is to take share tuk-tuk heading north and continue towards the river, you\’ll find a bridge, cross it and about 100m ahead is the cave. Inside the cave there is a stalactite, shaped like an elephant\’s head, many Buddha statues and a set of Buddha footprints. There is a small natural pool – swimming possible. There\’s a Hmong Village nearby.
