The grandest festival of Ubon Ratchathani, the Candle Festival takes place annually on Asalha Puja Day at Thung Si Muang Park. The festival features a colorful procession with beauties accompanying the candle floats and a contest of exquisitely-carved and elaborately-embellished beeswax candle floats created by local temples and communities, accompanied by traditional dances. At night, there is a beauty contest and various types of entertainment to enjoy. During the festival, beautiful candle floats are put on display at Thung Si Muang Park.
