Your Itinerary

Day 1: Cambodia Adventure Kayaking Tours: Phnom Penh – Kratie – Stung Treng (-/L/-)

CAMBODIA ADVENTURE KAYAKING TOUR

Depart Phnom Penh by private car directly to Stung Treng (stopping for lunch in Kratie). Overnight at an excellent riverside hotel (a/c, hot water) or a nature lodge located outside of town (basic facilities, private balcony, river view).

Day 2: Cambodia Adventure Kayaking Tours: Strung Treng – Trekking & Camping in Jungles (B/L/D)

Travel north by car and then by boat to a remote site on the Mekong where we will disembark and begin trekking through hills and pristine old growth forests. After a couple of hours of trekking, we will emerge from the thick jungle to a wide rocky expanse where the Mekong drops in a spectacular waterfall over a rocky ledge.

After listening to the roar of the powerful river and exploring the numerous drops, we will board a boat and continue to a small island where we will set up camp on a sandy beach and enjoy dinner around a campfire.

Day 3: Cambodia Adventure Kayaking Tours: Full day of Kayaking in Stung Treng (B/L/D)

Kayaking in Stung Treng

Awake to the sounds of birds and rare freshwater dolphins surfacing around the island. Begin a full-day kayaking trip down river through the remote flooded forests of Cambodia’s amazing Ramsar Wetlands. A boat will provide backup. Many varieties of birds live in these forests. Picnic lunch en route provided. Return to Stung Treng in the evening.

Day 4: Cambodia Adventure Kayaking Tours: Biking through jungles – Homestay in Stung Treng(B/L/D)

Leave Stung Treng by bicycle along a scenic river route, passing through quiet villages and watching local river life and fishing until arriving at a deep dolphin pool where you will stop for lunch in the village and watch the rare Mekong River Dolphins.

After lunch, transfer by car to a primary forest eco-tourism site where you can stay in a village home stay (basic facilities) and explore the old growth forest trails and scenic creeks and rapids winding through the jungle. Cycling: 35 km.

Day 5: Cambodia Adventure Kayaking Tours: Biking to Kratie (B/L/-)

Biking to Kratie

Transfer by car to the 100-Pillar Pagoda where we will explore the renowned pilgrimage site before crossing to an island by boat at a scenic area of the Mekong River. After lunch on theisland, begin cycling along the river route, stopping to visit Sambok Mountain before arriving in Kratie, a French colonial town, just in time for sunset over the river. Overnight at a comfortable riverside hotel (a/c, hot water). Cycling: 35 km.

Day 6: Cambodia Adventure Kayaking Tours: Kratie – Phnom Penh (B/L/-)

Transfer by car to the Mekong River south of Kompong Cham and board a ferry boat to cross to the Silk Islands. Enjoy a picnic and swim at a sandy beach on the tip of the northern-most island and make numerous excursions on the islands including visits to an island pagoda, local silk weaving communities, farms, villages and schools as we cycle across two islands.

From the quiet east bank of the Mekong, we will board a two-deck cruise boat for a comfortable journey to Phnom Penh, enjoying great views of river life, fishing practices, a floating village, the four rivers region and the city. Watch the sunset over the river while enjoying a BBQ dinner and drinks on board before arriving at Phnom Penh. Cycling: 20 km.
