DAY 1: Vietnam Northeast Adventure Trekking Tour from Sapa to Ha Giang: HANOI- OVERNIGHT TRAIN TO LAO CAI (-/-/D)

Welcome to Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. On arrival, you’ll be met and transferred by our representatives to the city center where the hotel is. Later, if time permits, join us on a cyclo ride through the fascinating Old Quarter. Located on an area of 100 ha, the Old Quarter is home to more than 1,000 traditional house and has 36 streets named after specific merchants’ crafts and trade. 

08.00: transfer to the railway station for the overnight train to Lao Cai.

DAY 2: Vietnam Northeast Adventure Trekking Tour from Sapa to Ha Giang: LAO CAI- ADVENTURE TREKKING TOURS TO BAC HA MARKET (B/L/D)

05.00: we arrive at Lao Cai station. Have a welcome breakfast with our guide at a local restaurant followed by a transfer to the town of Bac Ha, home where the Hmong people live. On the way, we’ll have a chance to take a boat from Bao Nhai Bridge to cruise upstream the Chay River while admiring the beautiful landscapes along the river banks. Stop at Trung Do- a Nung ethnic village to discover their lifestyle. Continue driving uphill to Bac Ha where we’ll find our hotel to check in.

After lunch, we’ll visit the Palace of the H’mong King that was built in 1921 and now becomes another landmark of the area. Continue to Thai Giang Pho- the Flower Hmong Village nearby- to learn how the native make their wine from maize.

Dinner at a local restaurant and stay overnight in Bac Ha.

DAY 3: Vietnam Northeast Adventure Trekking Tour from Sapa to Ha Giang: BAC HA ADVENTURE TOURS TO HOANG SU PHI- HA GIANG (B/L/D)

Upon leaving Bac Ha we set off on a full day journey through Sin Man and Hoang Su Phi to Ha Giang Town. The rough but scenic route traverses a dense jungle before crossing over a pass and dropping down to Sin Man. This day is a real challenge for our driver as we travel by winding roads with many uphill and downhill drives. Along the way we may encounter the Nung, Tay, Red Dao, Dao Ao Dai, La Chi and Co Lao, just some of the many hill tribal groups who have settled there.

DAY 4: Vietnam Northeast Adventure Trekking Tour from Sapa to Ha Giang: HA GIANG ADVENTURE TREKKING TOURS TO KHAU LAN (B/L/D)

After breakfast, we’ll visit the Ha Giang museum which has an excellent exhibits of the artifacts illustrating the ethnic groups living in the province.

After lunch, transfer to the Commune Centre in Quyet Tien. From here we’ll start 3 hour long trekking to Khau Lan village which is inhabited by the Dzao People. When passing the green paddy fields, little villages and beautiful forests, we’ll admire the beautiful scenery.

On arrival in the village, meet the village leader and your host families. At around 6.30 pm, all the tour members will have dinner at one family and split later to spend the night in three or four different host families. 

DAY 5: Vietnam Northeast Adventure Trekking Tour from Sapa to Ha Giang: KHAU LAN JOINING ACTIVITIES WITH THE LOCALS (B/L/D)

Today, we’ll have the unique opportunity to share our life with the locals by joining their daily activities. You may be working with them on the field, fetching wood, cutting grass for the livestock or cooking meals. Depending on the activity, you have lunch on different spots, outside the village.

Tonight, after the dinner also hosted by the locals, you might spend the rest of time sitting together around a fire, discussing and laughing with the local people then you will spend another night at your host family’s house. 

DAY 6: Vietnam Northeast Adventure Trekking Tour from Sapa to Ha Giang: KHAU LAN ADVENTURE TREKKING TOURS TO LANG TAN (B/L/D)

After farewell breakfast with the hosts, you take another trail back to Quyet Tien commune center, passing beautiful caves, streams and forests. From Quyet Tien, we’ll transfer to Quan Ba where you have about 2 hours to take a shower and relax in the district guesthouse or alternatively, we can take a walk through this small town. At around 2 pm, the local guide will pick you up to travel to Thanh Van Commune. After a short walk (30 minutes) you will arrive in Lang Tan village.

Lang Tan is a small village of Hmong people. The village is placed in rugged mountains which makes planting rice difficult. In order to increase their income, the villagers developed a special maize wine production. After you have met the village leader and your second host family, then there is plenty of time to walk around in the pretty village and meet the people. In the evening the group will enjoy a local dinner and sleep in Hmong style houses. 

DAY 7: Vietnam Northeast Adventure Trekking Tour from Sapa to Ha Giang: LANG TAN ADVENTURE TREKKING TOURS TO VILLAGES (B/L/D) 

On this day you can choose one out of two options:

Option 01: Includes a 5-6 hours trek in so far uncharted territory. Together with a Footprint guide and a local pathfinder you walk over hills and through forests, villages of Hmong and Dao people to Can Ty Commune where the Transfer is waiting for you. The car takes you through beautifully landscape to Dong Van Town, visiting the vestige of Hmong kingdom on route.

Option 02: Includes a longer stay in Lang Tan village watching the local people producing the maize wine instead of more trekking. In the afternoon the Transfer picks you up and drives you to Dong Van, where you meet the rest of the group. Around 6.30 pm. All the members of the tour check-in a small hotel in Dong

Van and take dinner in a local restaurant.

DAY 8: Vietnam Northeast Adventure Trekking Tour from Sapa to Ha Giang: LANG TAN ADVENTURE TREKKING TOURS TO QUAN BA PASSING MEO VAC (B/L/D)

Today, we’ll travel through a beautiful landscape of rolling and imposing mountains and steep valleys leading from Dong Van to Meo Vac District. This is the most remote corner of Vietnam, where the traditional life of ethnic minority people is the most vivid and colorful. After lunch in Yen Minh town, the cars takes you to Hop Tien village.

In Hop Tien you can visit a hemp cooperative, where local people explain and demonstrate the traditional hemp production (including dyeing with natural colors, weaving and decorating). At around 5.30pm, travel back to Quan Ba town, where you check in the comfortable district guesthouse. At 6.30 pm you go out for dinner in a local restaurant before you spend the night in the guesthouse. 

DAY 9: Vietnam Northeast Adventure Trekking Tour from Sapa to Ha Giang: QUAN BA ADVENTURE TREKKING TOURS TO VILLAGES (B/L/D)

After a local breakfast you will have time to visit the very colorful market in Quan Ba town. On this market you will see people from different ethnic minority groups, who walk all the way from their mountain villages to Quan Ba town, in order to trade items and meet other people.

Lunch & dinner are included and served in a local restaurant in Quan Ba town.Overnight in the district guesthouse. 

DAY 10: Vietnam Northeast Adventure Trekking Tour from Sapa to Ha Giang: QUAN BA- HANOI (B/L/-)

After breakfast at the guesthouse, we’ll start the long way transfer back to Hanoi. We’ll have lunch on the way.

DAY 11: Vietnam Northeast Adventure Trekking Tour from Sapa to Ha Giang: HANOI DEPARTURE (B/-/-)

Today, after breakfast you’ll have free time until the airport transfer for your departure filght home.
