Hop on and experience the freedom of the road! This one day motorbike tour will give you a chance to ride along some beautiful country side roads and be a part of motorbike streams of Mandalay. You will experience the highlights around Mandalay with professional motorbike guide.
The adventure starts from your hotel where your guide will meet you and give you all the safety instructions needed. After the safety brief you drive through lively streets of Mandalay and embark on one hour ferry ride across the mighty Irrawaddy River. Across the river lays rural village of Mingun, where you will drive side tracks and visit a massive unfinished Pagoda cracked by an earthquake in the 1800s it is truly a breath taking site, resting surrounded by dusty plains. Here you can also see one of the biggest bronze bells in the world.
From Mingun we ride along Irrawaddy trough mesmerizing landscapes and after about 20km of driving we reach ancient kingdom of Ava (Inwa). You will visit over 300 years old, but very well preserved Bagaya teak monastery that is still used by local monks. Ava used to be an imperial capital for nearly 360 years. It was destroyed by series of earthquakes in 1839 and today few magnificent archaeological structures still remain from its days of glory.
From Ava we ride towards Mandalay to Amarapura the former royal capital, now more like a quaint village, famous for its skilled artisans, bronze casters, silver smiths, wood carvers and especially for producing the finest hand crafted silks in Myanmar. After getting to know the local craft industries we drive to Ubein Bridge to enjoy magnificent sunset at this world’s longest teakwood bridge.
