Day by day

Your Itinerary

Set at the confluence of two rivers that almost surround the town, and beneath a temple-topped hill, Luang Prabang is a wonderful patchwork of traditional Lao wooden houses and hints of European architecture; reminders of when Laos was part of the French colony of Indochine. Golden-roofed wats, decorated with mosaics and murals of the life of Buddha, sit under the gaze of wrap-around teak balconies and 19th century shuttered windows. All of this is set against a backdrop of verdant greenery and rugged mountains.

Laos Daily Tours: Luang Prabang Combination Tours of Biking and Elephant Riding (-/L-)

Heading out of town we ride our bike along the track past the scenic area before we arrive at Wat Pa Phon Phao, a secluded temple which is dedicated to Ajahn Saisamut teacher. The next stop is Ban Panom populated by the Thai Lue. The home production of traditional weaving makes for large incomes to villagers. We continue venturing into this area past rice paddies on the way to the Lao Spirit Resort.

LUANGPRABANG BIKING AND ELEPHANT RIDING COMBINATION TOUR

On arrival, we see the Asian Elephants and enjoy a scenic ride of an hour and half. The elephant trail goes through jungle and rice paddies, giving us wonderful views of the river valley and the mountain landscape. We reach the Tad Sae Waterfall by late morning and have a stop for lunch and breather. Upon leaving this site we embark on a motorboat to the elephant camp and get on the bike again for a ride back to the town. The trip ends on arrival in Luang Prabang.
