Itinerary :
Option 1: Half day tour
We start kayaking at Ban Bo Hae, 1-hour drive from Luang Prabang. This can be done in the morning or in the afternoon
Approximately: 1-hour transfer / 2 ½ hours kayaking.
Option 2: One day tour
Itinerary: Luang Prabang – Ban Kok Muang – Ban Kok Wan – Ban Pak Pa – Luang Prabang
We depart from our Office in Luang Prabang. It takes us 1 ½ hour drive to the starting point at Ban Kok Muang. Before kayaking, we walk around to the Hmong village of Kok Muang. It is characteristic for the Hmong, originally being highland residents, to build firm wooden houses on the ground. You will have the opportunity to meet them and get some insight into their way of living.
Descending the Nam Pa by inflatable kayak takes us into a beautiful mountainous landscape, passing by numerous villages along the way. After a picnic lunch on the riverside nearby Kok Wan village, then paddling gets very exciting: continuous rapids up to the intermediate level make this day a unique paddling adventure – our experienced guides always being there to assist you.
The trip ends in the village of Ban Pak Pa (the police training school), where a pick-up awaits for transfer of half an hour to Luang Prabang.
Approximately: 1 ½ hour transfer / 5 hours kayaking
End of Service!
Note: The Nam Pa is very low and slow during the dry season. The trip is best from July to October but requires experienced kayaker. It can be done in the dry season, but with not much fun.
