Japanese cuisine has been widely accepted throughout Vietnam, and words like “Sushi”, “Sashimi” and “Tempura” are well known even among those who have never studied the Japanese language before.

Takako Fujita will speak on “Food culture in Japan” while Kojiro Kobayashi & Yoshiro Ono will deal with “The history of Tempura, food cultures in Japan and Vietnam.” They will also demonstrate how to make Tempura (Deep fried fish and vegetables) and Teuchi-udon (Homemade wheat noodles).

Guests will be served Chirashi-zushi (Assorted raw fish fillets over a bowl of sushi rice) and Tempura udon.

The lectures and demonstrations will be conducted in Japanese with Vietnamese interpretation from 6pm in the Marlion room (2nd floor) at Fortuna Hotel, 6B Lang Ha, Ba Dinh District.

The event is co-organized by the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, the Embassy of Japan and Japanese restaurant “Kyy”.

Admission is free but pre-registration is required.
