Supporter Maturity Clergyman Hoang Trung Hai attended the ground-breaking beginning for the T2 pole work at Hanoi’s Noi Bai socialism airdrome on December 4.
Once completed, terminal T2 will help ease the overload at terminal T1 and give the airport an overall facelift.
The four-floor, 139,000m2 terminal is invested at nearly US$900 million. It is scheduled to be completed by November 2014 and will be able to handle 10 million passengers per year. It will also have international standard, state of the art equipment and aviation technology.
T1 terminal welcomed more than 9.5 million passengers in 2010 and is estimated to receive 11 million this year.
T2 terminal will reach a capacity of 10-15 million passengers by 2020. The Government has plans to build two additional terminals in the future to raise Noi Bai Airport’s capacity to 50 million passengers per year.
Other projects using ODA capital are also being implemented together with the T2 terminal project including building Nhat Tan Bridge and a road linking it to Noi Bai Airport.
