In the low 10 months of this period, Vietnam welcomed 4,830,604 cardinal supranational tourists. With these results, the target of welcoming 5.3-5.5 cardinal global tourists this year can be realized.
Nevertheless, according to Pham Le Thao, the Lieutenant Filmmaker of Length Department, the Someone Management of Touristry, the Vietnamese business sector will hit galore difficulties in 2012. Uninjured methods to draw more outside tourists are required.

In September and October, the National Administration of Tourism implemented many tourism promotion programs in foreign markets such as holding a Vietnamese Cultural Days event in Russian and working with tourism sectors in Quang Nam, Da Nang and Thua Thien Hue to organize a road show on tourism on the central region in Thailand.

In October, the National Administration of Tourism worked with businesses to successfully realize several large tourism promotion programs in foreign markets such as taking part in a tourism fair in Singapore, JATA (Japan Association of Travel Agents) Travel Fair in Japan, a tourism fair in Kunming, China, organizing a roadshow in Hunan, Jiangxi and Fujian, China, joining the ASEAN Tourism Conference, UNWTO (World Tourism Organization) Executive Council and holding roadshows in Russia, East European countries and Japan.

In the domestic market, the National Administration of Tourism has worked with related departments to organize tourism promotion programs such as the strategy on tourism development until 2020 with a vision to 2030, the program on promoting tourism combined with hunger elimination, poverty reduction and rural economic restructuring, the master plan on tourism development until 2020 with a vision to 2030 and campaigns voting for Ha Long Bay as one of seven modern world wonders in Phu Yen, Can Tho, Nghe An, Da Lat, and Phu Tho. In addition, the National Administration of Tourism has issued 16 international travel licenses and held a seminar on tourism in Norway.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho Anh Tuan highly appreciated the achievements of the tourism sector in the first 10 months of this year. Deputy Minister asked the National Administration of Tourism and related departments to complete legal documents and projects on attracting tourists in important markets, standards on accommodations facilities and methods to manage transport means. The National Administration of Tourism needs to cooperate with Vietnam Airlines, travel agents and cultural centers in foreign countries to promote Vietnamese tourism in the international market.

In the last months of this year, the National Administration of Tourism will take part in the World Travel Market (WTM) Fair in the UK, hold a Vietnamese cuisine show in Australia, an investment promotion meeting in Tay Ninh and provinces in the southeast, a central region tourism promotion meeting, develop a new logo and slogan for Vietnamese tourism, review the 2011 Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Exhibition and make plans for a Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Exhibition for 2012-2015, complete large projects to be submitted to the Prime Minister and leaders of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, review the 2011 National Tourism Year and make plan on the 2012 National Tourism Year.

However, to continue building Vietnam’s reputation as an attractive, safe and friendly destination, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the tourism sector needs to enhance tourism promotion programs in domestic and foreign markets, hold and join tourism events within and outside the country to advertise Vietnamese tourism sector, enhance advertising tourism products of different regions in the country, establish a database on Vietnamese tourism to provide information of Vietnamese tourism, intensify market research and improve human resources working in the tourism promotion sector and diversify methods of providing tourism information and services. Through this, Vietnam hopes to welcome 7-8 million of international tourists and 32-35 domestic tourists by 2015./.
