On arrival at Tan San Nhat Airport, you are met and transferred to hotel for check-in. The bustling Ho Chi Minh City, still called Saigon by many locals, is a center of commerce, finance, culture and tourism in Vietnam. This metropolis, contradiction of its northern counterpart, is crowded with bikes and motorbikes, excited by numerous shopping areas and sidewalk cafes. If time permits, we stroll around the downtown to explore the different local ways of life.

DAY 2: Vietnam Tour to Cambodia by Mekong Cruise from Saigon to Siemreap: SAIGON FULL-DAY SIGHTSEEING TOURS (B/-/-)
Today is spent discovering our bustling and friendly city. You will be excited to view the daily life of local people with the crowded bikes and motorbikes on the way. First, tour in Saigon’s China Town, then learn about traditional Vietnamese medicine at the FITO Museum and browse through the amazing array of goods at Ben Thanh Market. Stop for lunch then continue on the city tour with a visit to the War Remnants Museum and former Presidential Palace. Finally, stop at the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Post Office to admire the city’s French colonial architecture before finding the way back to the hotel to conclude the day.

DAY 3: Vietnam Tour to Cambodia by Mekong Cruise from Saigon to Siemreap: SAI GON SIGHTSEEING TOURS TO TAY NINH AND CU CHI TUNNELS (B/-/-)
This morning we head out for Tay Ninh to witness the noon services of adherents to Caodai Sect in a beautiful edifice called Holy Temple. Next, we pay a visit to Cu Chi, an incredible underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the Vietnam War. Known as the “Iron Triangle” during the war of the 60’s, the story of Cu Chi is one of struggle, determination against all odds, and eventual victory. Now the tunnels are a major site of interest for tourists and historians, and those interested in Vietnam’s military history. It is advisable to wear clothes which you won’t mind getting dirty if you intend to be adventurous and go underground yourself! At the end of the day, we return to Saigon for resting.

DAY 4: Vietnam Tour to Cambodia by Mekong Cruise from Saigon to Siemreap: SAI GON TOURS TO MY THO – MEKONG DELTA CRUISE TOURS – CAN THO (B/-/-)
In the morning, travel by roads to the Mekong Delta. This plain region boasts the largest rice bowl of Vietnam. On arrival in My Tho, we board a boat navigating around the intricate small canals, which is a great way to observe the local lifestyle close-up and catch a view dotted by many islands. The exciting river trip will pass by the lush green vegetation towards the famous Unicorn Island where we have a chance to stroll around an orchard, taste many seasonal fruits and see farmers at work. We navigate some narrower canals using small rowing boats to Ben Tre Province for an interesting visit to some local industries. The extra enjoyment is a lunch at one of the famous local eating spots.
After lunch at a local restaurant, proceed to Can Tho, the city located on Mekong Delta bank.

DAY 5: Vietnam Tour to Cambodia by Mekong Cruise from Saigon to Siemreap: CAN THO CRUISE TOURS TO CAI RANG – OVERLAND TOURS TO CHAU DOC (B/L/D)
After breakfast, board a sampan to visit Cai Rang floating market and a fruit garden (Ba Cong) and then ride on a “xe loi” (motor cyclo) from Chap Phap Bridge to Binh Thuy Ancient House. Observe the rural life and enjoy the beautiful vegetation along the riverbanks. In the afternoon, drive to Chau Doc, near the Cambodian border. On arrival, visit Sam Mountain, a popular pilgrimage site with a host of Chinese, Cham and Khmer temples before checking into your hotel.

DAY 6: Vietnam Tour to Cambodia by Mekong Cruise from Saigon to Siemreap: CHAU DOC OVERLAND TOURS TO PHNOM PENH BY A SPEED BOAT – PHMOM PENH CITY TOURS AT ROYAL PALACE AND SILVER PAGODA (B/-/-)
After breakfast at the hotel, early departure at around 7 am for cruising to a fish farm where you will see the way how the local Mekong people live and run their business.
Next visit is a beautiful village where Cham minority are weaving their colorful traditional Sarongs and towels. When visiting the village, you’ll have lots of interaction with locals who live on stilted houses.
On arrival into Phnom Penh, stop for lunch.
The afternoon is spent discovering Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s vibrant and bustling capital city. Despite its recent turbulent history, Phnom Penh’s wide tree-lined boulevards and faded colonial mansions hold an undeniable charm. First, visit National Museum which was built in 1917and designed in Khmer style by famed French architect Georges Groslier & Ecole Des Arts. The museum has a good collection of Khmer sculptures dating from the pre-Angkor period (4th centuries) to post-Angkor period (14th centuries). Then visit Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866 on the site of the old town. The tour also includes the sacred Silver Pagoda which is so named because of its floor, made up of 5000 silver tiles.

DAY 7: Vietnam Tour to Cambodia by Mekong Cruise from Saigon to Siemreap: PHNOM PENH SIGHTSEEING TOURS AT KILLING FIELDS (B/-/-)
Breakfast at hotel followed by a visit to the notorious Killing Fields “Choeung Ek”, 15km southwest of Phnom Penh. This site witnessed brutal executions of more than 17,000 individuals, most of whom first suffered through interrogations, torture and deprivation in Toul Sleng Prison during Pol Pot regime (From 1975–1979). Then return back to Phnom Penh. On the way, stop to visit the handicraft shop, spa and vocational training restaurant. This place was created in 1996 by Pour un Sourire d’ Enfant (PSE), the NGO that aims to rescue Cambodian children who are forced to scavenge through the rubbish dumps to survive, especially around Steung Mean Chey garbage dump in Phnom Penh.
In the afternoon, try out your best bargaining skills on a walk through the city’s expansive “Russian Market”, where you can find anything from motorcycle parts to valuable gems.

DAY 8: Vietnam Tour to Cambodia by Mekong Cruise from Saigon to Siemreap: PHNOM PENH – FLIGHT TO SIEM REAP – SIGHTSEEING TOURS AT ANGKOR THOM AND TA PROHM TEMPLES (B/-/D)
Following breakfast at hotel, transfer to the airport for the domestic flight to Siem Reap, the provincial capital, and gateway to the ancient Angkor Temples. Recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Angkor Archaeological Park encompasses dozens of temple ruins including Bayon, Ta Prohm, and the legendary Angkor Wat. On arrival, fresh visit Angkor Thom’s imposing South Gate, topped with the four serenely smiling faces of Avalokiteshvara.
Next, visit Bayon temple, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Leaving Angkor Thom by its north gate, we travel to Preah Khan (Sacred Sword), one of Angkor’s largest temples, constructed in the 12th century by Jayavarman VII, before heading to the mystical, jungle-entwined Ta Prohm temple., Banteay Kdei (surrounded by 4 concentric walls), Ta Keo, constructed in late 10th early 11th century C.E, the first temple to be constructed wholly of sandstone.
Dinner tonight is served at a local restaurant with Aspara Dance Show.

DAY 9: Vietnam Tour to Cambodia by Mekong Cruise from Saigon to Siemreap: ANGKOR WATT SIGHTSEEING TOURS AND FLOATING VILLAGE VISIT (B/-/-)
Rise up early for the trip to the magnificent Angkor Wat. Dawn is the haunting, cooler and less crowded moment to see “the spiritual temple reflex on the water”. As the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Angkor Wat where the Hindu God Vishnu is dedicated was constructed by Suryavarman II who reigned Cambodia from 1113 to 1152. The plan of the pyramidal conception of the temple combined with spaces, alleys, and ditches is an ancient masterpiece of architectural design and construction. Then, transfer back to your hotel for breakfast and relax.
In the afternoon, drive straight to Pour Krom. Walk through this lovely village to see rural Khmer life. Experience an ox cart ride before a cruise on Tonle Sap Lake to see floating villages and get a taste of life ruled by monsoonal rains and water-based agriculture. One of the most productive bodies of fresh water in the world, Tonle Sap was classified as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1997.
This evening free time allows a good walk along the lively Pub Street and the lucky Night Market.
